McLeod's Memories

The final season of McLeod's Daughters will return to Channel Nine later this year. A date and timeslot will be announced at the appropriate time. Fans of the series can look forward to enjoying it then.

The highly anticipated new US series, FRINGE, starring Australian actors Anna Torv and John Noble (an Adelaide native), will go into the 8.30pm Wednesday night timeslot as of September 17 (fastracked from the US).

Creator, and Executive Producer of McLeod's Daughters, Posie Graeme-Evans said, "I have always maintained that the series should finish on a high, and while it was still loved by the audience. Based on this belief, in conjunction with Channel Nine, we came to the decision that Series 8 should be the last."

As with most long-running dramas, they must come to an end at some point, it was decided to end McLeod's when it had run its natural course. This will leave viewers with fond memories of the show.

Dearest Posie, I'm Angie from Belgium and i'm 28yr. I think McLeod's Daughters is really so awsome!!! It gives me a warm nice feeling everytime i watch it, especially because i don't have family anymore... I'm like Becky, exept the fact that my family is really rich and huge snobs, and i didn't want to be like them so i'm banned since 10 years now. But no worries, i'm just fine having my cat and dog around me... It would be a big dream for me to work on an australian farm like Drovers Run, but i can't leave my cat and dog behind. Please, email back to me, it would really make my day so much brighter... Bye from Angie
Mcleods night in our home meant all phones off the hook. No one was aloud to talk. Men were banished if they were not a fan. We go lost in the story and just wished the episode did not have to end. Gone is our night of relaxation and back to the violence and the blood shed
I have finally acquired all 8 seasons on DVD. I originally saw a few episodes on the Hallmark channel and having spent a good part of my life on various cattle ranches in Texas and was interested in how things were done "down under"! Then I got "hooked" on the story and the amazing characters. You folks put together one heck of a story. All the characters, Claire, Tess, Jodi, Becky...everyone....you did yourself proud. This series..McLeod's Daughters...one of the best ever will be good entertainment for years to come. IMO, it rates with best movies ever..."Shane, Giant, A Town Like Alice, The Man From Snowy River" to name a few. Good job folks! All the best to everyone! Ol' John at Castell, Texas
Dear Posie! In my country the main tv chanell only played the first three series, so till the 74th episode, but we have a hungarian Hallmark chanell and there i've seen all episodes. Sorry, if my english isn't the best, but please try to understand what I want to tell you. My favourite characters are those who played in the first three series. I mean when Becky Howard left Drovers Run in episode 70, I really missed her, and then when Claire died, I couldn't believe it, i was so sad. I know that this is a drama, but I think you shouldn't have killed so many characters from whom started playing in the show. And at least somebody should play from the begining till the end, but in the end everybody is newer character, and I couldn't take a liking for them. If Claire died, you shouldn't have killed Alex too, that's to sad. And the end would be better if not just Jodi and Meg returns, but everybody from the begin, who aren't dead. I mean Becky, Nick, Tess and the little Claire. Please reply.

My husband and I moved on to a property 4 years ago and the inspiration that McLeods Daughters gave me, especially when I didn't feel like doing the hard yakka, was fantastic. I know it's a T.V. show, but all so real and down to earth, that we have to take note of everything they did. Thanks, Posie for a great Australian country series. Tanya.
Hi Posie. I'm staying in Germany for one year as my husband has a contract here, but I come from South Africa. I have started watching McLeod's Daughters and am now addicted! It's all in German so I don't understand everything but I have ordered my dvd's. Here we are only in the 2nd series and I don't miss one episode! I feel at home when watching McLeod's as SA and Australia have a lot in common, the landscape, farms, even the vehicles and the weather! I really identify with each and every one of the "daughters". I laugh and cry with them, hold thumbs for them and clap hands for them! You have truly created something realistic and beautiful! Thank you for allowing me to feel like I'm home every time I sit down and watch them. I understand how things have to come to an end and I dread having to watch the last episode, but I'm getting all the dvd's and I'll watch them over and over! I applaud you on your masterpeice! Your biggest fan Teneil (South Africa and until July 2010 Germany)
I watched McCleod's Daughters when it was on WE here in the States. Cried when it went of the air. Recently discovered that my local library had the DVD sets for the first seven seasons and have now caught up except for final season. I was shocked by the accident that ocurred Christmas night at the end of season 7. And then I have made the mistake of reading about season 8. I find Alex is killed off (after it took him and Stevie forever to get together) Riley does not survive (just when it looked as though what he and Kate had could develop into something more). I know life is tough, but come on now. Surely these women deserve more happy endings than they have been given. I am really wavering over watching season 8, but do want to see how it all ends. For such an exceptional show I feel the writers could have done much better in the final couple season.
