Series 3
Episode 74 — Turbulence In the 2003 season
finale, Tess is finding it tough going with Stevie. She's insolent and
competitive and as far as Tess is concerned, not a team player. When a private
investigator comes looking for Stevie, Tess is convinced she has something to
hide. After being confronted by Tess, Stevie packs her bags but when Charlotte's
life is threatened, Tess and Stevie must put aside their differences to save
her.
Episode 73 — The Long Goodbye
Claire’s death
has everyone is dealing with it in their own way. Tess tries to keep her
emotions in check, unable to deal with her grief and burdened by survivor’s
guilt. A surprise visitor at Drovers Run helps Tess when she needs it most.
Episode 72 — My Noon, My Midnight
In a dramatic and
emotional episode, heartbreak hits Drover's Run. Tess anxiously awaits the
results of her breast cancer tests convinced that her time is up while Alex and
Claire decide to move in together. Tess's premonition of death appears to be
unfounded when she receives good news but planned celebrations are cut short
when a sister's worst nightmare come true and the ultimate sacrifice must be
made.
Episode 71 — To Catch A Thief
Tess’s upcoming operation has thoughts of mortality creeping in and Tess begins to write a letter
to Charlotte so that her niece can know her should Tess no longer be around.
Claire reminiscences when an old friend turns up unexpectedly.
Episode 70 — Body Language The
Young Farmer of the Year contest comes to Drovers Run, bringing difficult
choices for both Claire and Becky about the men they love. Drovers Run hosts
the Regional Young Farmer of the Year Award, and Becky is surprised to learn
that Jake has entered. He tells her he’s going to win her back. They compete
neck and neck and slowly Becky is won over by his persistence and charm and the
old spark between them returns. When Jake asks her to come and live with him on
the property he’s leased, Becky is truly torn between the man she loves and
Drovers Run.
Episode 69 — Time Frames
Prompted by Becky, Claire asks Harry if she can use King Harold in a new
breeding program on Drovers. Harry agrees, only to renege on the deal when
Sandra claims he’d promised King Harold to her. Claire’s furious and Harry is
embarrassed, but there’s nothing either of them can do. Sandra is looking for
proof that she’s now part of the Ryan family, King Harold was the first test but
now she wants Harry to pass another, will he organise a family lunch and
introduce her properly as the new woman in his life? Claire, Nick and Alex
accept Harry’s lunch invitation before they realise that it’s in honour of
Sandra.
Episode 68 — One step at a time Claire and Alex are
still in Melbourne with Charlotte, blissfully in love, and making plans to
extend their stay another day. At Drovers, Tess and Dave are also happy and
making plans for their wedding day. When Tess, in the shower, discovers a lump
in her breast, she fears her mother's fate and goes into denial, telling no-one,
not even Dave.
Episode 67 — The ties that
bind Claire's role as spokesperson for the local farmers' association
requires her to visit Melbourne and meet with their MLA, Charles Bateman, who is
attending a national forum with other MPs. Alex is insistent that he comes along
to look after mother and baby while he pursues some Wilgul matters but the real
reason is that he wants to meet his biological father, an eminent barrister
Bryce Redstaff.
Episode 66 — Majority Rules When Drovers is quarantined
and the future of the stock placed under a cloud, true friends seem few and far
between.
Vince, who is keen on Claire, convinces her to nominate for the
vacant position on the Gungellan Farmer's Council. Tess volunteers herself as
her campaign manager and speechwriter.
Episode 65 —
Let the Best Man Win Alex and Nick come to the rescue of an attractive
woman named Ellie when her car breaks down on a country road. Almost instantly
they're pitched into a competition to woo her, and the lead quickly shifts from
one to the other as each shines with his own charm.
Episode 64 — Perfect Match Becky and Jake use Stormcloud
to set up a stud on Drovers, going into partnership with Claire and Tess for the
use of their land and reputation. Claire finds it hard not to be involved, a
horse stud has long been her dream; and it's especially hard when Jake wants to
do business with people she does not approve of.
Episode 63 — Where There's Smoke Meg is dedicating
herself to her studies in order to prove herself at TAFE, and is thoroughly
immersed in ‘Pride and Prejudice’. The misjudgements and misunderstandings of
character that drive that classic echo through everyone’s dealings at Drovers
Run.
Jodi is determined to succeed at the CFS training weekend despite feeling
that Nick is not doing anything to help her. Her original enthusiasm is slowly
destroyed as she is put through her paces and exhaustion sets in. A flirtation
with another trainee, Toby, turns to animosity when she realises he does not
want to be teamed up with a girl. She begins to feel that Nick is unfairly
picking on her and pushing her to fail. Overnight she confides these feelings in
Becky and Tess. Tess is quick to jump to Nick’s defence much to Dave’s
bemusement. Becky gives a pep talk encouraging enough to propel her back to the
second day of training determined to succeed.
Episode 62 — Old Beginnings Claire is having a naming
ceremony for Charlotte Prudence McLeod with her friends and family when Peter
arrives. Claire has written to him after the birth, telling him he is a father.
Peter is justifiably angry. Not only did Claire and Alex lie to him as to who
was the father, but Claire did not advise him until after the birth.
Episode 61 — A Slight Interruption It’s been a week
since Baby McLeod was born, but she still remains nameless. Claire isn't too
worried - she’ll know the right name when she thinks of it. But she is suffering
a bad case of cabin fever as she struggles to balance motherhood with running
Drovers.
Episode 60 — Seeing the Light Min
Min lights are seen by Claire and Tess over Drovers. Tess is determined to
believe they are a good omen, but Claire, restless and uneasy in the last stages
of pregnancy, insists they’re natural phenomena but trouble awaits.
Episode 59 — The Awful Truth Nick and Alex
must face the awful truth of Harry’s new girlfriend whilst they argue over
Harry’s proposal for a stock route through Drovers Run.
Episode 58 — Chain Reaction When Jodi receives a chain
letter, she tears it up and throws it away, and then misfortune strikes Drovers.
Has she unleashed a curse?
Episode 57 — Jokers to the
Right The charade of being the father of Claire's baby is causing Alex
problems especially when Sandra Kinsella appears on the scene.
Episode 56 — Sins of the Father Becky and
Jake's relationship is tested when his real background is revealed, causing
shock waves which impact on everyone at Drovers' Run.
Episode 55 — Repeat Offenders When a
heartbroken journalist friend of Tess comes to Drovers Run the private lives of
all the women and their men become very public.
Episode 54 — Three little words As Harry and Alex
battle each other, Tess finds it hard to resist her attraction to Dave the vet.
Episode 53 — A house of cards When Becky and Jake are forced to
steal a horse, they find new depths to their relationship. Alex is dismayed when
Claire starts buying up old nags from the saleyards to save them from going for
dog food.
Episode 52 — The shape of things to
come Claire discovers a hidden treasure which brings back
ghostly memories of her mother and unleashes a gnawing fear that she too will
die in childbirth.
Episode 51 — Gone to the dogs When Becky and Jake
are forced to steal a horse, they find new depths to their relationship. Alex is
dismayed when Claire starts buying up old nags from the saleyards to save them
from going for dog food.
Episode 50
— The wedding Unexpected events result in an unlikely outcome on Jodi and
Alberto's much anticipated wedding day. It is the night before Jodi's wedding
and a powerful electrical storm rages.
Episode 49
— Put to the test When Becky and Jake are forced to steal a
horse, they find new depths to their relationship. Alex is dismayed when Claire
starts buying up old nags from the saleyards to save them from going for dog
food. This isn't a good investment in time or money for their horse training
business. But Alex can't win with Claire at the moment.
Episode 48 — An affair to forget Tess believes Sally is
cheating on Nick, while Alberto calls off the wedding after discovering Jodi had
a fling overseas. When Tess sees Sally hugging a stranger and then overhears an
apparently compromising phone call, she starts jumping to conclusions.
Episode 47 – The road home Becky's search for Brick
comes to an end while Jodi's dreams of a big wedding cause tension. Jodi is
planning an elaborate wedding and Meg's right behind her. Initially, they don't
notice that Alberto has reservations.
Episode 46 –
Better The Devil You Know Claire and Alex's lie about the baby causes a
major upset between the sisters. Claire is in control, or she thinks she is. She
is limping around the farm, refusing help, ignoring her physiotherapy routines
and keeping Tess at arms length.
Episode 45 – Fairy Tale, Ending Claire
arrives home and must face the truth about her baby's father. When Claire is
picked up by Alex from hospital, her desire is to pick up her life where she
left it. But hanging over her head is the lie she told months ago, that Alex is
the father of her unborn child.
